By the age of 35, Mr. Kerns attained an AV rating as reflected in Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Kerns’ trial skills were enhanced further by his completion of training at the National Criminal Defense College, as well as Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer College in Dubois, Wyoming.

Mr. Kerns’ successes include state, federal, and appellate cases involving various crimes including drug conspiracies, first-degree murder, fraud, and computer crime.

Currently, Mr. Kerns clients have avoided conviction in ten consecutive federal jury trials. In five murder trials, his clients have experienced four outright acquittals and one lesser manslaughter conviction.
